Karlene Wong


Karlene Wong began her musical studies at the age of 3 through the Royal Conservatory of Music and later went on to Wilfrid Laurier University and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Music degree. She is a certified Suzuki teacher (Books 1-3) and has been a private violin teacher as well as Department Head (strings and woodwinds) at the Merriam School of Music. She has been a member with the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and has performed joint concerts with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the National Arts Council Orchestra in Ottawa. Karlene has studied with former Toronto Symphony members Erica Davidson and Yaakov Geringas, Steven Staryk, and the Penderecki String Quartet. She has performed under the direction of Pinchas Zukerman, Raffi Armenian, Simon Streatfield, and Mario Bernardi. Karlene is the music teacher at Oodenawi Public School in Oakville and a freelance musician.
