Parent Training and Support
Parent Training Program
Classes for parents of beginner students are required at the start of each season. As with school work, parents play a critical role in the musical education of their child, and these classes will help them understand how to practice with their child, and create the ideal learning environment at home. Any parent whose child is enrolled in violin group classes are welcome to attend as part of their registration fee. Kindly inform the Administrator in advance.
Parents whose children study other instruments and wish to learn more about the Suzuki method may attend for a small fee.
A Parent Welcome package will also be loaned to parents for the duration of the training but must be returned at the end of November. There will be an option to purchase the material as well.
Parents may choose to attend Wednesday or Saturday session from September to November.
Parent Mentor Program
Experienced OSA parents are able to help answer questions many new parents have as well as provide support parent-to-parent as you begin your musical journey. New families will be contacted in September with further information.
