One of the greatest advantages of the Suzuki method of learning is the opportunity for students to learn and grow together through group classes. When children meet regularly to play the same music, they are motivated and inspired by one another. Group class is fun – just ask our students!
At the beginning of the year, students are organized into classes according to their level of play. Together they work on pieces for upcoming concerts and events; they work in tandem with the material covered by private teachers. Students should register in the level recommeded by their private teacher.
The OSA's group violin program is comprised of two parts: an instrumental class and a non-instrumental Kodaly class, which work to develop a student's playing ability and his or her musical literacy in tandem. Kodaly is mandatory for Book 1 students. For our more advanced group students we also offer RCM Theory classes.
