2023-24 Music History

Music History

The Music History Class is based on the RCM Level 9 Music History curriculum, and is an adventure into the people, places and pieces that make up the body of classical music we play and love so much.
You will learn all about the composers you play and the music they wrote, all within the era they lived in. Knowing more about its place in Music History gives music energy and perspective.

By the end of the course, you will be ready to write the RCM exam and be able to wow your friends with your knowledge.

You do not need to be in Level 9 RCM or the equivalent in your instrument to take this course.
This course is available to both OSA and non-OSA students. OSA students will receive a discount in their shopping cart.

Music History is taught by OSA teacher, Michelle Coon, an RCM certified teacher in all levels of Theory, History and Harmony.
Tuesdays at 6:30- 7:30 pm at QEPCCC. Check the calendar for specific dates.

Note: Course materials (RCM text, workbook and other materials) are not included in the registration fee. They will be available to purchase for $60 (cash or cheque) at the first class.
