Andrew Burton holds a Bachelor's degree in Cello performance from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as a Masters Degree in cello performance from the University of Toronto. He has studied with Shimon Walt, Shauna Rolston and Paul Pulford. During his studies, he was both a vocalist and a cellist. He has played in a variety of orchestras including the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra. He is currently a music teacher with the Halton District school board and teaches music to grades 1-5. In recent years his focus has been the teaching methods of Kodaly, Orff and John Feierabend. He believes in the development of musical skills that are transferable across a variety of disciplines making students well-rounded individuals.
