Daphne Grittani has played cello and piano for over 40 years, completing Royal Conservatory exams, including receiving the silver medal award for the top mark in Ontario on her grade 8 cello exam. She has completed Suzuki cello units 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 with Susan Gagnon, and cello group techniques with Carey Beth Hockett. Daphne has also completed unit 1 piano with Carole Bigler. She is a member of the SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas) and SAO (Suzuki Association of Ontario).
She has enjoyed playing in a number of community orchestras and ensembles including the Scarborough Philharmonic, The West Coast Symphony in Vancouver and currently plays with the Mississauga Symphony. Daphne was introduced to the Suzuki method when her first daughter started on the cello at age 4.
She is a mother of 4 and a Suzuki parent for over 23 years. Daphne completed Suzuki Early Childhood (ECE) training levels 1 and 2.
