Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!


The Welcome Concert and Open House was a wonderful start to a new season! Thank you to everyone who attended and shared your playing—and a special shout‑out to all teachers, especially Miss Addy and Miss Joanna, for their impromptu performance of Seitz No. 2.

We also extend a heartfelt thank‑you to our keynote Suzuki speaker, Susan Gagnon, for sharing her wisdom and speaking to families about core Suzuki principles.

A Note About the New Website and Registration

As we transition to the new website platform, we are making final adjustments to the registration timeline and official website launch. At this time, our priority remains focused on getting students into group classes this week.

Please note that this email focuses on group class details for cello, guitar, piano, violin, Kodaly, RCM theory, and SECE programs.  Information about registration—including OSA annual membership, will follow once group classes are underway.

Group Classes for 2026–27

All group classes are held at QEPCCC (Queen Elizabeth Park Community & Cultural Centre). Most programs begin this week!

Piano Group Classes – Tuesdays

Schedule:  Suzuki Piano - OSA Group Class Calendar 2026-27

  • Beginner piano students will start off the year with private lessons on Tuesdays.  Lesson times are coordinated with Miss Kiki.
  • Piano students attend Kodály Prep with other beginner students on Thursdays: 5:00–5:30 p.m., Multipurpose Room 3, starting September 24.
  • Parents of new beginners (cello, guitar, piano, violin) attend the Ready-Set-Suzuki! Parent Education: Thursdays 5:30–6:15 p.m., Music Room 6 from October 1 to 22.
  • Regular piano group classes will begin on Tuesday, October 27, 6:00-6:45 p.m., Music Room 6.

Cello, Violin, Kodály & RCM Theory – Thursdays

Schedule:  2026-27 OSA Thursday Group Class Schedule

New cello & violin beginners 

  • Beginner cello and violin students will start off the year with private lessons.  Lesson times are coordinated with their private Suzuki teacher.
  • They will also attend Kodály Prep group class with other beginner students on Thursdays:  5:00–5:30 p.m., Multipurpose Room 3, starting September 24.
  • Parents of new beginners (cello, guitar, piano, violin) attend the Ready-Set-Suzuki! Parent Education: Thursdays 5:30–6:15 p.m., Music Room 6 from October 1 to 22.
  • Regular cello and violin group classes will begin on Thursday, November 6, 5:30-6:15 p.m.

Returning cello and violin students—start on Thursday, September 24

  • Please check the Thursday group class schedule and attend the group class that matches your student’s current book level.  If unsure, consult your private Suzuki teacher.
  • For Kodály or RCM Theory, attend the class shown in the same colour block as your instrumental group class. These may be scheduled before or after the instrumental class.
  • Teachers will use this coming Thursday to assess students and ensure they are placed in the most suitable group classes.

Guitar Group Classes – Saturdays

Schedule:  Suzuki Guitar - OSA Group Class Calendar 2026-27

  • Beginner guitar students will start off the year with private lessons on Saturday mornings. Lesson times are coordinated with Mr. Patrick Feely.
  • Guitar students will also attend Kodály Prep with other beginner students on Thursdays:  5:00–5:30 p.m., QEPCCC, Multipurpose Room 3, starting September 24.
  • Parents of new beginners (cello, guitar, piano, violin) attend the Ready-Set-Suzuki! Parent Education: Thursdays 5:30–6:15 p.m., Music Room 6 from October 1 to 22.
  • Regular guitar group classes begin Saturday, October 24 at 10:00-10:45 a.m., QEPCCC, Room TBD.

Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) – Saturdays

Schedule:  OSA Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) - Calendar 2026-27

  • We welcome back our SECE families from last year and look forward to seeing you on: Saturday, September 26 at 9:00-10:00 a.m.. in Music Room 6 at QEPCCC
  • If you have families, friends, or neighbours interested in registering for SECE or attending a trial lesson, please email info@oakvillesuzuki.org. 

Group Class Tuition Fees

All students, except SECE students, will be invoiced for the full group class fee and be able to pay in two equal installments in October 2026 and February 2027.

OSA annual membership is $130/student and will be invoiced in October 2026 with your group class fee. Details on membership registration will be communicated after group classes have started.

SECE students can register by the term and the OSA annual membership is included in the SECE tuition fee. You will be invoiced the full amount for each term, as outlined in the group class fees, in October 2026 (Term 1), January 2027 (Term 2), and April 2027 (Term 3).
